Robin Gibb has denied his colon cancer ever left him at "death's door" saying the results of his chemotherapy have been "spectacular".
The 62-year-old Bee Gees star was admitted to hospital in November and cancelled a series of performances after he was described as "frail" but the musician has now revealed that he has "never felt seriously ill".
"I have undergone chemotherapy, however, and the results, to quote my doctor, have been 'spectacular'. It's taken a toll but the strange thing is that I've never felt seriously ill."
He added: "There have been many false claims around, which I'd like to dispel. I am not and have never been at death's door. Nor do I have a team of alternative doctors, although I'm not averse to healthy remedies. I feel they can go together with conventional medicine.
"I do eat health foods and drink herbal teas made for me by Dwina, my wife. I am under the care of Dr Peter Harper."
Speaking to the paper last week, Dwina said: "He is doing brilliantly. He feels good and he does not have any pain. He really is fantastic."
