You're watching the football and you decide you want a beer. Well the beer is in the other room, which obviously then rules out you ever getting that beer.
Well CNET has discovered that students at the University of New South Wales have come up with a unique solution to this problem: rather than have the beer come to you, why not just get the whole couch to move to the beer?
One year and over £2000 in development costs later and they created the robot couch.
While at first glance it looks like a normal sofa, underneath you'll find four powerful sets of wheels that consist of individual rollers. This set-up allows the robot couch to move in any direction giving you complete freedom within your own living room.
The couch uses a Raspberry Pi for a brain and can be controlled via a simple games controller however the team are working on making the couch autonomous.
