If there's one thing that absolutely terrifies normal people, and seems to make Silicon Valley types secretly pleased, it's automation.
The idea that robots are clearly going to take over a huge variety and amount of jobs in the next few decades isn't new. But we're now getting disturbingly close to it being a very definite economic reality.
