Robbie Williams has paid tribute to Ronnie Corbett in his own special way, with a tattoo honouring the late comedian.
The ‘Rock DJ’ singer is famous, among other things, for his ever-expanding collection of body art, which fans have seen grow and grow over his years in the spotlight, and he’s now unveiled his latest ink.
Sharing a photo of his latest tattoo, situated on the side of his neck, on Twitter, Robbie wrote: “Ronnie Corbett: You inspired me at a very young age. THANK YOU. You’ll always be with me.”
The tattoo shows two pairs of glasses, a reference to the sketch show, ‘The Two Ronnies’, in which the veteran British entertainer starred alongside his comedy partner, Ronnie Barker.
The sad news of Ronnie Corbett’s death was announced on Thursday morning by his publicist, with a host of British stars taking to Twitter to pay their respects to one of the men who helped shape British comedy.
However, Robbie isn’t the only celebrity to have marked the death of one of his biggest inspirations with a new tattoo.
Earlier this year, Lady Gaga honoured the loss of her idol, David Bowie, by having his ‘Aladdin Sane’ album cover tattooed on her side.
This came just days before she took to the stage at the Grammy Awards to perform a medley of David Bowie’s biggest hits, accompanied by his former collaborator Nile Rodgers, while sporting an ensemble inspired by his Ziggy Stardust persona.
