Russell Brand is to return to the UK following the split from his pop star wife Katy Perry.
Russell confirmed he had filed for divorce on Friday citing "irreconcilable differences" for the breakdown of his 14 month marriage to Californian Girl singer Katy Perry.
It has since surfaced that the relationship ended after 27-year-old Katy revealed she wasn't ready to have children as she felt she wanted to concentrate on her career.
Russell, 36, is now set to return to the UK leaving the home he shared with Katy in Los Angeles.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall funnyman has spent the Christmas and New Year period in the UK and was spotted in the gym of London's Savoy Hotel yesterday.
Speaking to the Daily Star, a source said: "He would be keen to move back to Britain as he needs a fresh start. It's a terrible time for him and despite his growing fame in America, he wants to cope with it by being back on home turf."
Katy is to head off on a girly holiday with fellow pop star Rihanna in a bid to recover from the heartache caused by the split.
