Perhaps conscious that his children may be inspired to follow in the footsteps, or dolphin kicks, of Olympic swimmers, the prime minister has dipped his toe into the swimming pool peeing debate.
In an interview with the Metro newspaper, David Cameron was asked what he thought about US Olympic medalists Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte's admissions that they had been caught short in the water.
Cameron said: "I was quite surprised by that. It is not OK to pee in the pool."
Asked if he had weed in the London pool, Lochte admitted: “I sure did in warm-up.”
“I think there’s just something about getting into chlorine water that you just automatically go.”
Cameron also told the paper that the constant noise from the beach volleyball court in Horse Guards Parade, next to his Downing Street flat, was causing some family problems.
"It's all very amusing for five minutes until you try to get the children to sleep. They have Moves like Jagger every sort of ten minutes," he said.
The announcer at the venue, which backs on to St James' Park has reportedly been having some fun at Cameron's expense.
"We've just had a call. It seems the prime minister is trying to get an early night and wants less noise," he has been heard to tell the crowd, inciting booing.
While on another occasion he gave the Cameron family a wake-up call at 8.30am by announcing: "Morning Downing Street”.
Despite the disruption, the prime minister's spokesman admitted last week that Cameron had "probably had a peek" at the volleyball.
