Rylan Clark-Neal Admits He Feels Like A 'Full-On Impostor' Ahead Of New Strictly Role

He's already feeling the nerves ahead of his It Takes Two debut later this year.

Rylan Clark-Neal says he feels like he has “full-on imposter syndrome” after landing a new job on Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Rylan would be co-presenting the BBC Two show with Zoë Ball on this year’s series, following her appointment on the Radio 2 breakfast show.

Discussing his new role, he joked to The Sun: “I was like ‘Are you sure they’ve rung the right person? They don’t think I’m someone else?’

“I genuinely thought I’d turn up for work and they’d be like ‘Hi Rylan, are you OK? Are you lost?’”

Rylan’s career has had an interesting trajectory, starting with his stint on The X Factor, an appearance which led to many branding him a “novelty” contestant, and ending with him becoming one of the UK’s top presenters.

He added: “There’s nothing better than getting announced you’re doing a job, people slating you, then you do a job and having people go ‘he’s actually all right’.

“At the beginning it felt like a fight, but nowadays I actually expect it — and I sort of thrive on it a bit.”

So far, 2019 is shaping up to be a big one for Rylan, having also landed his own Radio 2 show on Saturday afternoons, in addition to his new Strictly role.

Last year, his Channel 5 Big Brother spin-off Bit On The Side came to an end, but he is still adamant about finding the reality show a new UK home in the future.
