Sabine Lisicki has reached her first Grand Slam final after defeating Agnieszka Radwańska in an absorbing Wimbledon semi-final.
Number 23 seed Lisicki came through 6-4 2-6 9-7 against the Pole to go one better than her last four berth in 2011.
The German will play Marion Bartoli, the losing 2007 finalist, in Saturday's final.
Lisicki wept with joy, just as she did following her fourth-round defeat of Serena Williams, as she became the first German ladies finalist since Steffi Graf in 1999.
Given that she was the highest seed left in the draw, many had Radwanska down as favourite on Centre Court, but it was crowd-pleaser Lisicki who would not be denied a final spot again at SW19.
