Speaking to 2019 Strictly finalist Ashely Roberts  on Heart Breakfast on Thursday morning, Saffron said it was a “dream” to be asked to take part as she’s such a huge fan of the show.

“I am so excited I can’t even tell you,” she said. “This is such a dream for me. I’m also very nervous but I just can’t wait for it to actually start and I’ve had to hold this in for such a long time now, I’m so excited its announced.”

She added that she had “a lot to live up to” after Joe Sugg reached last year’s final, adding: “I’m excited to follow in his [Joe Sugg’s] footsteps. He done absolutely amazing.”

This series of Strictly Come Dancing will also see a number of changes.

She is the sister of current Strictly pro Oti Mabuse, and will be sitting alongside Shirley BallasCraig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli

As announced earlier this week, new dancer Nancy Xu will be joining the professional line-up for the new series.
