A student who has a rare degenerative muscle disorder, which has left him reliant on a wheelchair, wowed his fellow graduates after getting up and walking across his university stage to accept his degree.
Sam Bridgman, who's motto is "impossible is nothing", has Friedreich's ataxia, a rare degenerative neuromuscular disorder also known as FA, was determined to collect his college diploma unaided, HuffPost US reported.
A student at the University of Portland in the US, was diagnosed with FA at the age of 15, and has tirelessly campaigned for the Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance, a charity working to find a cure for the rare disease.
Bridgman's incredible display of determination at his graduation ceremony, described by the university as "so incredibly inspiring" brought the crowd to their feet with a standing ovation. He was assisted by two athletic trainers, who worked with Sam throughout his time at the university.
