Samir Nasri has apologised for telling journalists to go "f**k themselves" after France's Euro 2012 quarter-final defeat to Spain on Saturday night.
Manchester City playmaker Nasri was dropped for the last eight match but was embroiled in an ongoing feud with journalists stemming from his goal in Les Bleus' opening match against England.
The 25-year-old shouted "shut your face" at a L'Equipe journalist, before his weekend transgression when he yelled profanities in the mixed zone and also challenged one reporter to a fight.
In French, he said on his Twitter page: "Too many untruths circulating at the moment. The fans and especially the children know that I sincerely regret that my words could have shocked them. I love the EDF [the France team], football and I have deep respect for the public.
"As for the rest, this is a personal matter between me and a few journalists. I will explain when the time comes."
The French Football Federation president Noël le Graët described what Nasri said as "intolerable" and the FFF is now deciding over whether disciplinary action should be taken against the former Arsenal man.
