Samsung Ultra-High Definition Screen And 4K TVs Look Set To Hammer Rivals

Samsung Announce 'Retina-Busting' Screen

Samsung has taken another step towards market leader with the announcement of a Retina Display-busting ultra-high definition range of screens.

The tech giant is to introduce a 13.3-inch QHD 3200 x 1800 possibly for use in its range of Ultrabooks - easily beating the 2560 x 1600 resolution of Apple's equivalent.

Yes, it's just a demonstration screen right now - but when it makes it into a production laptop the results should be pretty stunning.

As if that wasn't enough, Samsung also announced it is expanding its UHD TV range.

4K is the next standard in TV definition with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels

Hot on the heels of their 85-inch 4K-resolution TV announced in January - a snip at $39,999 - come the more 'affordable' 55 and 65-inch versions.

The sets should be available in June. Prices have yet to be released but expect to have to dig pretty deep into your pockets if you want one.

Sony's equivalents which are "priced to sell" retail for £3,999 for the 55-inch and £5,999 for the 65-inch.
