The weird and wonderful world of celebrity friendships strikes again, this time in the form of our favourite naughty-but-fabulous model Kate Moss and Fergie. No, not Fergie the humpalicious singer. Heck no, we're talking about Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of Kent and mum to Beatrice and Eugenie.

According to reports, the unlikely duo partied together at a dinner in Venice hosted by their mutual pal Sir David Tang. Who'd have thunk it - a 53-year-old royal getting down with a 39-year-old model type. But perhaps they have more in common than first meets the eye.
Let us consider the evidence; they've both been in the limelight for controversial reasons over the years (do we need to go over the toe-sucking incident or the cocaine Kate debacle?), they're both mums to daughters, and they both like a jolly good knees-up. Not to mention the fact that Kate is well known for enjoying the company and wisdom of older ladies (Jo Wood and Marianne Faithfull, anyone?)
AND - take this picture, snapped back in 2007, showing the pair looking tres comfortable in each other's company. Proof perhaps that no matter how unlikely a friendship may seen, they're often the ones that go the distance and endure.
