Scarlett Moffatt Speaks Out After Being Accused Of 'Taking Advantage' Of Instagram Clothes Brand

The I'm A Celebrity winner offered her "massive apologies" after requesting a £150 skirt from a fashion brand and never actually wearing it.

Scarlett Moffatt has finally responded to the media storm surrounding claims she had ghosted a fashion brand. after asking them to supply a custom-made skirt that she failed to wear.

Earlier this week, Scarlett was accused of “taking advantage” of MySuitcase Boutique, after approaching them to donate a skirt she wanted to wear to a pride event, in return for Instagram posts about the brand.

However, after giving her a customised skirt worth £150, Scarlett’s posts never materialised, as she wore something else to the event in question.

The brand’s owner Michaela Liu told MailOnline: “I work a full time job as well as [running] a business paying for all the stock out of my own money, working every hour under the sun. I do everything on my own.

“As a clothing brand, I rely on collaborations with Instagram influencers to get my business noticed, as well as word of mouth and great customer feedback.

“I was approached on Instagram by Scarlett Moffatt asking me if I do collaborations. I couldn’t believe it when she messaged me, I obviously would never turn down this opportunity working with Queen of the jungle!”

She continued: “I was happy to make a bespoke for Scarlett for her major event, and went out of my way to buy extra stars to make it even more amazing.”

After contacting Scarlett more than once, Michaela told the publication she felt “sick and cheated” about not hearing back from the former Gogglebox star, who initially remained silent on the matter, even deleting her Twitter account when reports about the absent skirt began circulating.

On Wednesday night, Scarlett finally posted about the matter on Instagram, urging her followers not to “believe everything [they] read”.

She said: “[I] honestly can’t believe the way the article reads… this is a misunderstanding. I’ve been super busy and intended to wear the MySuitcase Boutique [skirt] but instead will be returning the skirt.

“Also I don’t Google my name and knew none of this until today. Massive apologies to MySuitcase Boutique.”

Scarlett also maintained she hasn’t actively posted on Twitter in seven months, which is why her account was removed, insisting she didn’t delete it because of the MySuitcase Boutique incident.

The brand responded: “I have accepted Scarlett Moffatt’s apology and believe it is completely genuine.

“Please can I ask that you stop with the trolling and the hate mail towards her. The post was never intended to cause any nastiness. It was purely an attempt to get a response from her.

“Now that we have spoken we have agreed for the skirt to be sent back.”

Scarlett initially rose to fame as a member of the Gogglebox cast, but stepped down from the hit Channel 4 show after taking part in I’m A Celebrity.

Since then, she’s carved a new career as a TV presenter, co-hosting Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, and the ITV2 panel show CelebAbility.
