David Cameron sought to signal his deep wish that Scotland vote to reject independence in nine days time on Tuesday, by hoisting the Scottish Saltire flag over No.10 Downing Street.
The moment designed to prove London's love for Scotland was carried live on Sky News. Unfortunately the first attempt failed when the flag fell down after making it only half way up the pole. So close.
Luckily for the prime minister, the workmen, after a bit of a struggle, managed to get it right the second time.
