Sean Penn's Son Hopper Reveals He Was Nearly Named 'Steak' (After His Dad's Favourite Food)

Sean Penn almost went with the name "steak" when naming his now 22-year-old son.

Hopper Penn revealed that he was nearly named after his dad's favourite food when speaking to Interview magazine. 

"Yeah, my dad wanted to name me steak, the food, because he loves it so much," Hopper said.

However, according to Hopper, Penn didn't get away with it because his mum, Robin Wright, would never have agreed.

Either way, the name the couple did go for does have a story.

"What my parents told me is that I hopped in [my mum's] stomach and I didn't kick, so they just went with that," he added.

Penn is also dad to Dylan, 24, with his former wife Wright. The couple divorced in July 2010.
