Sex And The City Prequel, The Carrie Diaries: AnnaSophia Robb Is Missing Sarah Jessica Parker's Mole

Rewriting History: Carrie Bradshaw’s Mole Is No More In Sex And The City Prequel

As filming for the Sex And The City prequel gets under way it’s all looking good and well and faithful to the original. With one exception…

With her flowing mane of blonde locks AnnaSophia Robb is a dead ringer for Candice Bushnell’s prototype Carrie, but there’s been neither hide nor hair of the signature mole on her chin during filming for The Carrie Diaries.

Sarah Jessica Parker had the mole in question removed in 2008 after wrapping filming on the first Sex And The City Movie.

She told David Letterman: “I didn’t have strong feelings. I didn’t object to it. I just didn’t care for it.”

Shortly after the procedure the actress recounted how a woman approached her, apparently upset that she had gotten rid of her “signature”.

"I was like, 'My mole was my signature? Isn't my brain my signature?'" Parker said. "For about the next 15 minutes I couldn't hear anything because I thought I'd make a terrible mistake. Can they put it back on?"

For continuity’s sake… and perhaps to appease fans of SJP’s “signature”, the show’s make-up artists painted the mole right back onto Carrie’s visage for the film sequel.

Which rather begs the question – have they forgotten to do it this time round?
