Shane Warne ran into trouble on the most recent episode of the Aussie version of ‘I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’, when he was bitten on the head by an anaconda.
See the moment Shane got bitten in the video above…
The star was taking part in one of the show’s infamous Bushtucker Trials when the incident occurred - but luckily for him, the offending snake wasn’t venomous.
Oh, Shane...
The trial saw the former cricketer sticking his head into boxes that were home to a variety of occupants, from which he had to fish out gold stars with his teeth.
Before plunging into the perspex container of snakes, Shane dunked his head into one with rats, causing the show’s host Chris Brown (no, not that one) to warn him: “You were just in with those rats for a long period of time. They may see you as being food.”
Turns out, he was right.
Shane’s bite was quickly treated with antiseptic fluid, and he’s being monitored by health professionals who are on the lookout for signs of infection, News Corp Australia reports.
An ‘I’m A Celebrity’ executive producer tells the website: “Shane has made no secret that snakes are one of his greatest fears so it’s amazing that after being bitten he bravely continued with the trial.
“When Shane puts his mind to a task, he won’t let anything stop him.”
The people running Shane's Twitter in his absence shared a message of support for the star:
The Aussie series of ‘I’m A Celeb’ is filmed in South Africa, and Shane’s not the first former cricketer to take part in the show.
English sportsman Andrew Flintoff starred in the 2015 series, and went on to be crowned King of the Jungle.
