A statement from her spokesperson reads (via The Sun): “Sheridan’s much loved father sadly passed away this week.

“We can confirm that she will not be performing at the Royal Variety Performance this Tuesday 6th December.

“At this difficult time for Sheridan and her family we would ask that you please respect their privacy.”

Sheridan shared news of her father’s cancer diagnosis when she took time out from stage show ‘Funny Girl’ to be at his side.

Back in March, when one fan took to Twitter to share their disappointment at the fact she would not be appearing in the show, Sheridan wrote back: “Hate missing shows but pappa needs me x.”

Sheridan’s brother Julian also died after being diagnosed with cancer, when the actress was just eight years old.
