Shia LaBeouf is spending 24 hours in a lift at Oxford University, because... well.. Shia.
The actor-turned-living art installation is occupying an elevator in the Oxford Union, the university's student debating society, for 24 hours, starting at 9am on Friday.
The stunt, which will be live streamed, "acts as an extended 24 hour talk," says the Union.
"Visitors will be able to join LaBeouf, [and his collaborators Nastja Rönkkö and Luke Turner]. inside the elevator during this time, and are invited to address the artists, the debating chamber, and the internet, so that their collective voices may form an extended, expansive and egalitarian Oxford Union address," the union says. "The performance and access to the Union debating chamber will be free and open to the public for the full 24 hours."
Speaking in the lift, LaBeouf said he was invited by the union's president after setting up a public call centre in Liverpool, the BBC reported.According to the Independent, its an act of "enforced intimacy".
