A Northamptonshire shopkeeper managed to fend off a masked raider with a mop, grabbing the first thing that came to hand to during an attempted robbery at closing time.
Mop against machete doesn't seem like a fair fight, but despite the formidable thief's continued efforts to get into the shop, 52-year-old Dinesh Gorania's mop-waving warded off the attacker.
The masked raider can be seen loitering confused by the shop's door in the Rushden area of Northamptonshire.
The incident with the robber, who Gorania described as "looking like something out of a horror movie" was caught on CCTV camera.
Even though he was armed with a two-foot machete, he didn't dare face the shop's mop, especially after Gorania's son Kishan, 21, arrived with reinforcement, in the shape of a hockey stick.
The baffled intruder stumbled off into the night, dazed after being hit by the mop. Northamptonshire Police are investigating the incident.
