David Walliams stole the show at Simon Cowell’s birthday party, delivering a speech where he pretended the two were an item.
The music mogul invited his nearest and dearest - and, yes, you’ll be thrilled to hear that does include Sinitta - for a massive bash at Scalini, West London in honour of his 55th birthday, and was reportedly left sinking in his seat when it was time for David to deliver his toast.
Simon Cowell and 'BGT' runner-up Lucy Kay at his early birthday bash - nice to see he dressed up for the occasion
An insider told The Mirror: “There was a few speeches and David Walliams did one which was very funny. It was what David’s humour is always like with Simon, he was playing out the boyfriend role.”
The rest of the 'BGT' judging panel celebrate Simon's birthday in style
Also in attendance were Mr and Mrs Fernandez-Versini - that’s ‘X Factor’ judge Cheryl and her new husband Jean-Bernard - as well as fellow talent show judges Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden, who made her ‘This Morning’ debut on Monday, co-presenting with Phillip Schofield while Holly Willoughby is on maternity leave.
Simon was presented with a cake that showed his two dogs Squiddly and Diddly on the ‘X Factor’ judging panel (that’s one judges’ houses we’d love to see), as well as a family portrait featuring his partner, Lauren Silverman, and young son, Eric, given to him by Paul McKenna.
If nothing else, this proves what we’ve suspected all along - there ain’t no party like a Paul McKenna party.
Cheryl and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini arrive at the party
According to The Mirror, the party ran on into the wee small hours, after which time the champagne and spaghetti bolognese that guests were dining out on had been eaten and drunk.
That’s right, spag bol. How the other half live, eh?
We're pleased to see Simon enjoying his big night and letting his immaculate hair down, after it was claimed earlier this week he was fed up with the way this year's 'X Factor' judging panel had turned out to be a lot more tame than he'd been hoping for.
Meanwhile, it's also been reported that Chezza is planning to set up her own record label to rival Si's Syco records, which is currently home to One Direction and Little Mix, among others.
