Inquest Into Death Of Teenager 'Bullied For Being Pretty'

An inquest to establish the cause of death of a schoolgirl who fell to her death after reportedly being bullied "for being pretty" will be held on Thursday.

Simone Grice plunged 20 feet from a bridge and was allegedly found clinging to her mobile phone and a toy doll she had had since she was a toddler. The 15-year-old's mother Linda attributed her death to "verbal and physical assaults" which left Simone "emotionally fragile", This Is Cornwall reported.

"She was the victim of extreme bullying at school," the mother-of-three said.

"She was always targeted and it was very intense. They were always looking to beat her up. They would spit at her, throw stones at her and call her names."

Simone who died in July 2009 from injuries sustained in the fall from the bridge on the A30 near her home in Redruth, Cornwall. She had also recently split with her boyfriend, something Linda added may have been the "final straw".

The inquest at Camborne Magistrates Court is scheduled to last two days.
