But now, experts have issued a health warning for the jeans because they can severely damage muscles and nerves.
This comes after a woman was left hospitalised because she'd been crouched down in skinny jeans for a long period of time.
The warning was issued in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry after a 35-year-old woman developed compartment syndrome.
According to the NHS, it is a painful and potentially serious condition caused by bleeding or swelling within an enclosed bundle of muscles.
The journal said the Australian woman had to be cut out of her skinny jeans after she'd spent the day squatting and emptying cupboards to help her friend move house.
As the day progressed, her calves swelled severely, her feet became extremely numb and she found it increasingly difficult to walk.

Doctors at Royal Adelaide Hospital have since concluded that the condition was made far worse by her skinny jeans.
Neurologist Dr Thomas Kimber told CTVNews.ca: "As the calf muscles swelled, they compressed the two main nerves of the lower legs: the peroneal nerve and the tibial nerve, which supply sensation to the ankles and the feet."
He added that the muscles in her legs began to break down and release proteins into the blood, a process which is called rhabdomyolysis.
According to Dr Kimber, these proteins can potentially cause kidney damage.
The woman was put on an intravenous drip to flush the proteins out and, despite damage to her lower leg muscles and nerves, she was able to walk again unaided after four days.
Dr Kimber issued some handy advice to stop this from happening to others.
"If you're going to wear skinny jeans, don't go do a job that involves prolonged squatting," he said.
"And if you wear these jeans and get numbness and tingling, you should definitely get up and walk around to get the blood moving to prevent this from happening to you."

This isn't the first study to suggest that skinny jeans are a health issue, either.
In 2012, the International Business Times reported that a microsurgeon had suggested skinny jeans could be responsible for a painful disorder called meralgia paresthetica.
The condition is characterised by tingling, numbness and burning pain in your outer thigh.
According to Mayo Clinic, it's caused by compression of the nerve that supplies sensation to the skin surface of your thigh.
