Snoop Dogg has helped to spread a bit of holiday cheer, by helping dish out some Thanksgiving turkeys to those less fortunate.
Last week, for the second year in a row, the ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ rapper showed off his charitable side, by handing out over 1500 holiday turkeys to families in need at The Forum, in Inglewood, California.
He also chatted and posed for selfies with the people waiting in line at the Thanksgiving turkey giveaway, where the city mayor, James Butts, and other officials were also in attendance to help out.
Mayor Butts tells NBC Los Angeles: “Snoop Dogg took pictures with over 800 people at the event.
“We had a tented area for seniors to sit in, and the first thing he did was go over to take pictures with everyone there.”
Snoop’s charitable move came after asking the mayor how he could help give back to the Inglewood community, as it’s the same area where his production crew, ‘1500 Or Nothin’’ have had their headquarters since last year.
He reportedly told crowds last Thursday: “Inglewood, y’all know I love you… this is my second home.”
This year, almost twice as many turkeys are thought to have been handed out at the giveaway as last year, when it was first conceived.
Snoop also reportedly intends to keep the Thanksgiving tradition going in the years to come.
