Not Quite Forever

The Spice Girls musical, 'Viva Forever' is to close next month.

The curtain will go down on the stage show, which features songs from the Brit girl group and was written by Jennifer Saunders on 29 June.

According to the Daily Mail, the production has made a loss of at least £5 million after it was panned by critics (including our own Entertainment Editor) and failed to get bums on seats after just seven months in the West End.

The musical was launched with much fanfare by Spice Girls Geri Halliwell, Mel C, Emma Bunton, Mel B and Victoria Beckham who reunited at the London premiere.

But after poor ticket sales the cast were told yesterday that the show had been axed.

Cast member Anthony Topham, who plays Lance, took to Twitter to tell his followers: "Cut price Gerrard Butler type who can do a Geordie accent for hire! Viva Forever given its notice and will close 29th June. #iblamesting"
