Harrison Ford could miss up to eight weeks of filming for the forthcoming seventh instalment in the ‘Star Wars’ series after an accident on set left him recovering in hospital.
The actor, who is set to reprise his iconic role of Hans Solo in the upcoming fillm, reportedly suffered a broken ankle after a hydraulic door fell on him during filming at Pinewood Studios.

A movie insider told The Mirror: “At the moment it looks like Harrison is going to be off set for 6-8 weeks but the main priority is making sure he is OK.”
However, despite the star’s injury, it’s now believed producers have managed to reschedule filming, meaning Harrison’s recovery shouldn’t disrupt filming too much.

In fact, Yahoo Celebrity has reported that some scenes could be filmed from the waist up while he recuperates from his broken ankle.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Harrison’s wife Calista Flockhart has confirmed to The Telegraph that she is “en route” from America to Oxford so she can be by her husband’s side while he recovers from his injuries.
The seventh ‘Star Wars’ film is currently slated for release in December 2015.
