Steven Pienaar has rejoined Everton from Tottenham Hotspur for a fee reported to be £4.5m after a successful loan spell.
"I am happy to be here. It took a few weeks to sort out but I am delighted to be back and excited to play for Everton.
"There was no doubt in my mind that I would be back here. At the end of the season I told the manager how I felt and I am happy now it is all done."
The South African spent three-and-a-half-years at Goodison Park having signed from Borussia Dortmund for £2m, before he transferred to Spurs in January 2011.
However he only made 18 appearances for the north London club and the 30-year-old returned to Merseyside on loan in January this year.
A near-instant success, he scored four goals in 14 games, including the winner against Chelsea and equaliser versus Manchester United, as Everton enjoyed a fruitful second half of the season.
