Stormzy has donated £9,000 to help a student from South West London study at Harvard Graduate School of Education in the US.
Fiona Asiedu launched a crowdfunding initiative to raise the £12,000 she needed to cover the cost of a Masters programme in human development and psychology.
After a friend shared her crowdfunding drive on Twitter, Stormzy retweeted the appeal to his 695,000 followers.
He also donated £9,000 to Ms Asiedu's cause.
The Oxford University student wrote on the Crowdfunder page that she is "particularly interested in psychological development of individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, specifically ethnic minorities and those from working class backgrounds".
She goes on to say: "Studying human development and psychology will equip me with the knowledge and skills necessary to generate effective interventions, particularly targeted at young people, to uphold healthy psychological development within this community."
Ms Asiedu's friend later posted a message on Twitter saying the pair would like to take the music star to dinner to say thank you.
She wrote: "@Stormzy1 let me take you Nando's for a thank you chicken because this is all you."
"Deal!" he replied.
