Dev had also emerged as one of the front runners of the competition last week, when his Aladdin-themed Street routine scored 36 out of a possible 40.

His and Dianne’s shock exit sparked some passionate responses with many fans blaming the way the judges were marking on Saturday night for his subsequent exit. which head judge Shirley Ballas addressed on Monday’s Loose Women.

“We do our job, but as you can see, there were many people who were saved with lower scores,” Shirley said.

“It’s that middle of the leaderboard when you think people are safe.”
