The actress faced BBC Breakfast's Mike Bushell in Sunday night's dance-off.

Catherine Tyldesley is the latest celeb to leave this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The former Coronation Street star found herself in the bottom two with BBC Breakfast’s Mike Bushell following this weekend’s Halloween special.

The actress and her partner Johannes Radebe faced Mike and his partner Katya Jones in Sunday night’s dance-off.

Both couples performed their routines again, with Catherine and Johannes performing their Cha Cha to Scared Of The Dark by Steps and Mike and Katya performing their Tango to What You Waiting For by Gwen Stefani in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

After both couples had danced a second time the judges delivered their verdicts:

Both Motsi Mabuse and Bruno Tonioli chose to save Catherine and Johannes, but with Craig Revel Horwood opting to save Mike and Katya, it was left to Head Judge Shirley Ballas to cast the deciding vote.

Shirley said: “Well, I thought both couples really step it up a notch and this is always the most difficult decision for me, but based on a good focus, difficult content, with some really beautiful footwork in there with stronger technical skills for me, cleaner and polished. I’m going to save Mike and Katya.”

When asked by host Tess Daly about her time on the show, Catherine said: “[Johannes], yeah, he’s like my best friend. He’s just…oooh, (referring to her eye make-up) it’s waterproof… just the opportunity to work with amazing people and get critiqued off amazing people.

“I never thought I’d say this, I’m going to keep it up because I fell in love with it! I’ve loved every second, this man has changed my life!”

Johannes added: “Okay Tess, the beautiful thing is that I need to thank Strictly Come Dancing for the opportunity…thank you. Most of all, I want to say thank you to this woman. She has been a light for me. Thank you for accepting me for who I am and for showing me joy every day. Thank you!”

Sunday’s results show opened with the professional dancers performing a routine to Britney Spears’ Toxic, and also featured a performance by Adam Lambert performing his latest single, Superpower.

The remaining ten couples will take to the dance floor next week when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 2 November at 7pm. The results show follows on Sunday 3 November at 7.15pm on BBC One.
