Antony Cotton has denied rumours he’s set to star on the latest series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The ‘Coronation Street’ actor was linked to a role on the BBC ballroom show earlier this month, but he now claims he is too busy to take part, having signed a new contract with the soap.

Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, Antony said: “[That] takes me to August next year. I can’t do both – you’ve got to dedicate your life to ‘Strictly’.

“It is one of my favourite television shows and I would bite their hand off, but my loyalties lie at ‘Coronation Street’ and I’ve signed for another year there. I love it there – that’s my second family.”

He is the latest star to rule himself out of ‘Strictly’ as earlier this week, former ‘X Factor’ host Dermot O’Leary denied he would be taking part.

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns to BBC One in the autumn.
