'Strictly Come Dancing': Former Pro Kristina Rihanoff Accuses Show Of Copying Old Performance Of Hers

"So many other ways to be unique."

Former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Kristina Rihanoff launched an attack on the show for rehashing a previous performance of hers.

The dancer was not impressed with Kate Silverton and Aljaz Skorjanec’s routine during Saturday night’s Movie Week special, noticing it bore resemblance to a dance she did with Jason Donovan on the show in 2011.

Viewers of the BBC ballroom show saw BBC newsreader Kate perform a Foxtrot dressed as Jessica Rabbit after emerging from behind a curtain.

Kristina also performed a Foxtrot as the cartoon character seven years ago, and also began the routine with exactly the same move.

After seeing Kate and Aljaz dance, she took to Twitter to write:“Why to use the same props same song and costumes [sic].”

She continued: “So many great movies so many great songs so many other ways to be unique and have a personal spin on things.”

Kristina then finished off by using rival show ‘The X Factor’ to make a dig at ‘Strictly’.

“Now what time is @TheXFactor?” she wrote.

It is far from the first time Kristina has criticised the show since leaving at the end of the 2015 series.

Last year, she went on record to say she believes the BBC ballroom competition now favours “crazy productions” over actual skill, with the use of props and storytelling.

Aljaz later hit back at Kristina in an interview with HuffPost UK, branding her opinions “very sad”.

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ continues on Sunday at 7.45pm on BBC One.
