‘Strictly Come Dancing’: Laura Whitmore Confirmed For 2016 Line-Up

The TV presenter will join Will Young and Ed Balls on the dancefloor.

Laura Whitmore is the latest celeb confirmed to be taking part in this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The TV presenter, who is best known for fronting the ‘I’m A Celebrity’ sister show ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Now!’, is the third star confirmed to be taking part in the new series.

Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw announced the news on Wednesday (10 Aug), and Laura joined Grimmy to share her excitement about taking part.

“I have watched Strictly and been obsessed with the show since series 1,” Laura said. “It’s an incredible show and I feel so honoured to be asked to part of it.  

“I’m not going to lie, I’m slightly petrified too.”

The 31-year-old joins Ed Balls and Will Young on the show, who have already been announced as contestants for the new series, which kicks off in September.

Laura’s first major presenting job came after she beat 3000 other hopefuls to win a coveted MTV VJ role.

From there her presenting career has gone from strength to strength, reporting from music and film festivals around the world and interviewing some of the biggest names in show business

This year she hosted online coverage for the BAFTAs and fronted ‘The Brits Are Coming’ on ITV.

More celebrity contestants for the new series of ‘Strictly’ will be announced in the coming weeks.
