Students have been banned from pushing their classmate in his wheelchair as they have not been trained to do so.
The secondary school, which will remain anonymous, was the latest to enforce one of many ludicrous health and safety "rules" which dominate classrooms.
The school asked pupils not to push their friend's wheelchair, which he was using after spraining his ankle, as they "had no training".
The case was highlighted by the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) myth busters challenge panel, who endeavour to separate fact from speculative fiction.
The HSE's panel ruled: "There is no health and safety law preventing students from pushing wheelchairs.
The school may have legitimate concerns about the welfare of students if they push wheelchairs. In this case, it would be better if the school worked with the students to address these concerns so that they could help their fellow students."
Last week we revealed yoyos were banned in one school, prompting us to dig out some the most ridiculous bans under aforementioned health and safety "rules".
