A group of students is helping to stage a kiss in at a Sainsbury's store in Brighton, in protest at the treatment of a lesbian couple who were told they were "disgusting".
Annabelle Paige, an English Literature student at Sussex University, was asked to stop being affectionate towards her girlfriend or leave the store, after a woman complained about the "disgusting" kiss and said she was "concerned" about her child's safety.

Now, her students' union is joining calls from other local groups to stage a "Big Kiss In" at the New England Street store in the city, which is often described as Britain's "gay capital".

The event, due to take place on Wednesday from 6pm, is expected to pack the store out.
Michael Segalov, communications officer at the SU, said Sainsbury's apology and offer to donate £100 to charity was an inadequate response.
"Tomorrow will be a show of strength and togetherness from the Brighton community, at which we will show that there is no place for homophobia in our community.
"We call on Sainsbury's to take their responsibilities seriously, and display a serious commitment to the cause that they claim to support. Come down and join the hundreds of us tomorrow in Brighton for a celebration of affection, no matter who they are."
The students' union is calling on the supermarket giant to re-examine current practice, and ensure its staff have mandatory training on equality and diversity issues.
The event will be hosted by Lydia L’Scabies, a local performance artist, and NUS LGBT Women’s Officer Fran Cowling, as well as local activists and politicians.
Sussex's SU added: "The Students’ Union will be stewarding the event, and we wish to remind everyone that all kissing must be consensual. You are of course welcome to attend and not kiss if you so wish."
A Sainsbury spokesperson said: "We have always welcomed everyone into our stores and will do so as usual on Wednesday."
