The so-called 'Supermoon' which was seen over the weekend wasn't -- as astronomers have regularly pointed out online -- quite as spectacular as you'd imagine.
In fact the unusually large full moon is only 14% larger and 30% brighter than the normal Moon at most, and is only about 50,000 km closer to the Earth.
Still, that hasn't stopped thousands posting their supermoon pictures online (the best are collected below).
And that includes the astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
Regular ISS Vine-r and ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst managed to post three pictures of the supermoon while it was still behind the horizon, but visible due to atmospheric refraction.
