Susan Boyle has revealed she was wrongly diagnosed with brain damage as a child, but was 'relieved' to discover she was actually suffering from Asperger syndrome.
The 'Britain's Got Talent' star says she suffered years of bullying and was given the nickname of 'Susie Simple' at school in an interview with The Observer.

"It was the wrong diagnosis when I was a kid. I was told I had brain damage," she told the paper.
The singer was eventually given the right diagnosis after seeing a Scottish specialist.
"Nobody told me to," she explained. "I thought I had a more serious illness and couldn’t function properly.
Asperger syndrome is a form of autism which sees sufferers struggling with communication and in social relationships.
"Asperger’s doesn’t define me," she added.
"It’s a condition that I have to live with and work through, but I feel more relaxed about myself.
