Carol Vorderman has revealed that Susanna Reid was overcome with emotion while judging this year’s Pride of Britain Awards.

Carol is returning to host the awards, honouring Britain’s best and bravest, for the 16th time later this month, and was also on the judging panel, helping decide who was the most deserving of a prize at this year’s ceremony.

This time around she was joined on the panel by ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter Susanna, who she reckons found the process more than a little difficult.

“You'd have to be pretty hard-hearted not to get emotional.”

Carol also claimed that she doesn’t understand why people are fascinated with what she would be wearing to the awards, joking: “People are far more interested in it than I am. If only they knew how lazy I really am!”

It has already been revealed that Stephen Sutton - the teenager who helped raise over £5 million for the Teenage Cancer Trust before his untimely death earlier this year - would be honoured with a posthumous award at this year’s ceremony, having received a record number of nominations from the British public.

The youngster was previously given a posthumous MBE for his charity work back in June.
