The news will come as even more of a blow to ITV, as ‘BBC Breakfast’ - which was presented by Susanna for over a decade before she defected to ITV - drew in almost twice as many viewers.

The BBC show also managed to maintain the same audience figures while those of their ITV rivals dropped significantly as the week went on.

“She should be putting on viewers, not shedding them. The BBC must be delighted that the move has backfired, so far at least.”

‘Good Morning Britain’ was met with mixed reviews following its launch, with some critics unhappy that Susanna’s legs were covered up by a desk.

These criticisms have since been slammed by ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star Luisa Zissman, who branded them as “blatant sexism” in her newspaper column.

It was previously reported that Susanna could be earning up to £1 million for her role at the helm of ‘Good Morning Britain’, though an ITV spokesperson was quick to deny this.
