Another day, another Olympic proposal - and this time it’s a member of Team GB.

Tom Bosworth, race walker, tweeted a photo of the moment he popped the question to his boyfriend, Harry Dineley, on Monday.

The 26-year-old got down on one knee on the picturesque Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro.

Dineley, who said yes, tweeted a photo of the engagement ring.

Bosworth came sixth in the men’s 20km walk, but despite not winning a medal he smashed the British record with a finish time of 1:20:13.

The record, set by Ian McCombie in the Seoul Olympics in 1988, stood at 1:22:03.

“I’m in shock at what just happened,” Bosworth said following the race.

“I can’t be disappointed with sixth place at the Olympics but I could have done better as I had a dodgy stomach last night and that affected me a little bit.

“To break the British record by such a margin and at the Olympics is a dream come true. It was just an amazing experience. I’m so happy I cannot put it into words.”

Bosworth and Dineley are the third couple to get engaged at Rio 2016. Earlier in the games, Brazilian Olympics volunteer Marjorie Enya proposed to girlfriend Isadora Cerullo, a member of Brazil’s rugby sevens women’s team, and Olympic diver Qin Kai proposed to fellow diver and long-term girlfriend He Zi after she won a silver medal.

We can’t quite get enough of all of the the love at Rio, maybe there’s something in the water.
