Some of us are cursed with noisy neighbours, either next door, downstairs or across the street – but not THREE MILES away!
So spare a feeling for residents in Devon who suffered the hell of a teenager's party noise until 7am from a stately home that is barely within walking distance!
Jessica Kennaway threw a huge bash for a friend's 18 birthday at Escot House country pile in Ottery St Mary, which has been in her family for 210 years.
But the party got so rowdy it woke up villagers three miles away - many of whom took to Facebook and Twitter in the early hours to share their anger.
The posh bash went on until 7am on Sunday morning and eventually police were called to tell them to tun the music down.
Following a series of complaints, the local council urged Jessica to issue an apology to her neighbours.
She said: "During the course of the night, as everyone became absorbed in the party atmosphere, what started as an acceptable volume level must have crept up.
"When the police alerted us to this fact, the music was turned down immediately.
"I would like to apologise to local residents for not realising that the volume had reached an unacceptable level and, therefore, for disturbing their Sunday morning."
Despite the apology neighbours say the situation was 'crazy' and the family's actions were 'very selfish'.
Allison Britz, a 49-year-old sales manager from Feniton, a mile away, said the noise went on from around 10.30pm on Saturday until 7.15am the following morning.
She said people as far away as the villages of Buckerell and Payhembury, three miles away, were disturbed.
Alison said: "We all enjoy a party and no one objects to it once in a while if we are notified about it and it doesn't go on all night.
"But this was absolutely crazy, the thump thump thump of the music went on all night, my niece and her friends who were staying knew all the songs that were being played, it wasn't just a drone of background noise."
