A schoolboy is in a coma after another boy tugged his testicles while larking around in the playground.
The 17-year-old, from Dublin, suffered a suspected heart attack while joking around with schoolmates. He passed out after the incident which happened during his lunch-break on Thursday.
The boy was on his way back to St David's CBS off the Malahide Road when he came across people he knew.
It is believed the fifth year student was joking around with the others when somebody jerked his scrotum. Gardai have launched an investigation into the incident.
A source close to the family told the Mirror it wasn't a savage attack and wasn't malicious.
A school teacher and one of the teenagers performed CPR at the scene before the emergency services came which could have saved the teen's life.
On Friday night the boy was in the ICU ward in Beaumont in a stable condition.
He was in an induced coma and hasn't woken up yet.
Gardai initially sealed off the area after the incident thinking the boy had been assaulted.
