Tesco has not had the best week following news that horse DNA was found in the meat of burgers stocked by the retailer.
More than 10 million are believed to have been contaminated, forcing the food giant to publish a full page apology in a host of national newspapers, no doubt following several strained days in the “crisis management” department of Tesco HQ.
Unfortunately, the company’s collective penitence did not filter down to the customer care team who sent out a tweet on Thursday evening, saying that “It's sleepy time so we're off to hit the hay!”
We eagerly await a follow up tweet from the retailer in which they “trot off” further apologies…
