Channel 4 debuts That Music Show this Friday night, which will see two teams comprising of mouthy musicians and cocky comedians competing to find out who reigns supreme and knows the most about music as each team represents an iconic year in music history.

With Nick Grimshaw adjudicating, the teams represent 1995 and 2005 and team captains Shaun Keaveny (1995) and Seann Walsh (2005) are joined by Alex James, Heather Small, Sharleen Spiteri, A*M*E, Shed 7's Rick Witter, Maggot, Theo from Hurts and comedian Tom Stade to argue the toss.

However, as a preview for the show, Goldie Lookin' Chain's Maggot and Shed 7's Rick Witter bring the debate to The Huffington Post UK. So, was 1995 a better year for British music that 2005?

The emergence of bands such as the Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs and Bloc Party, combined with the return of Kate Bush makes 2005 the better year, argues Welsh comedic rapper Maggot.

But Shed 7's Rick Witter argues that the unbeatable music scene of the mid '90s, 'Madchester' and the unending war between Oasis and Blur make 1995 the greatest year in music history.
