Thanks to some ridiculous new technology it is now possible to print your own makeup. And we reckon it's safe to say this is the best news we've heard all year.
Grace Choi, a Harvard Business School graduate, debuted her new 3D printer that not only PRINTS MAKEUP but prints it in any colour you could ever possibly want. Just by grabbing a colour code from an image and hooking a small device up to your computer, you have yourself an endless supply of lipsticks and eyeshadows in any shade.
Those paint charts in Homebase just got way more interesting!
Watch Grace present her 3D printer here:
The "Mink" printer will retail at $300 and considering the cost of a normal and utterly boring printer, plus all that money you spend at the makeup counter, we call that pretty good value.
Grace showed off her invention at the Disrupt NY tech conference on Wednesday, where she told the audience that the Mink printer creates products that are comparable to major labels' current colour offerings and uses the same quality of base ingredients used across the beauty industry.
She told Tech Crunch she thinks the Mink will "take out the bull shit" from the beauty industry, explaining: "Big makeup companies take the pigment and the subtrates and mix them together and then jack the price.
"We do the same thing and let you get the makeup right in your own house."
