The Chase Announces New Spin-Off Beat The Chasers With Huge Twist To Format

Don't worry though, all five Chasers and host Bradley Walsh aren't going anywhere.

The Chase is getting a spin-off that will see all five Chasers teaming up for the first time.

ITV’s new series Beat The Chasers will unite Mark “The Beast” Labbett, Paul “The Sinnerman” Sinha, Anne “The Governess” Hegerty, Shaun “The Dark Destroyer” Wallace and Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan on screen, in a twist on the show’s usual format.

Beat The Chasers will see the quizzers competing together as a team, challenging contestants to play against them for huge cash prizes.

As ever, it will be hosted by Bradley Walsh, who said: “The contestants are brave facing one Chaser, let alone all five.

“With that group of top quizzing brains working as a team, it’s going to take some beating. But I can’t wait to see who’s going to take them on.”

The managing director of Potato – the production company that make the show – said the new series “is the equivalent of competing in the Olympics or playing in an FA Cup final” for quizzers.

“It’s the ultimate challenge against the greatest quiz team ever assembled,” Michael Kelpie said.

“In this brand new format, anyone who thinks they’re clever enough can take on the nation’s favourite quizzers.”

While the regular series of The Chase airs at teatime, the new spin-off will get a new primetime slot stripped over a week in 2020.

The Chase began in 2009 and has gone on to become the country’s most popular quiz, attracting millions of viewers in its daytime slot.

It has also picked up multiple awards, including a National Television Award for Best Quiz 2019.

A number of the Chasers have also gone on to appear on other shows, with Anne Hegerty taking part in I’m A Celebrity last year, and Jenny Ryan currently competing on X Factor: Celebrity
