No matter how old we get, we all remember our first love. But what would you say to yours if you had the chance?
A new photo project is letting people open up to the first person who broke their heart, without fear of judgement.
The series, called The Unsent Project, is the brainchild of artist Rora Blue.
Blue asks members of the public to fill out a form on her website stating the name of their first love and the text message they wish they could send them.
She also asks the volunteers to pick a colour from a chart that they would most associate with their first love.
Blue prints out the submissions and posts her favourites onto Instagram. She also creates collages with the text messages in colour order.
"My goal was to find out what colour most people see love in. As I created the collage, I was pleasantly surprised to find that love is seen in the full spectrum of colour. I wanted to create something that was visually appealing from a distance but emotional and meaningful up close," she explains on her site.
Blue adds: "I wanted to reflect social media’s nuanced desire to say something from the heart yet remain anonymous. The collage is a tangible representation of the fearlessness to speak ones mind that people have when sitting behind a screen.
"The collage also reveals the immense amount of people who have something left unsaid to their first love whether that person is part of their past, present, or future."
The messages are occasionally funny, but more often than not, they remind us how utterly heartbreaking a first break up feels.
