  • The film was released in 2004 and was a critical and commercial success in both the UK and US making it into the top 10 in America despite having a very limited release
  • Shaun of the Dead is now considered a cult classic and was transformed into a graphic novel published by Titan Books
  • Cult director Quentin Tarantino was quoted as saying that Shaun of the Dead is one of the top 20 films made since 1992
  • The film was played to George Romero (director of Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead) who liked the film so much he offered Edgar and Simon a cameo in his next film

THE WORLD'S END - (MINT CORNETTO)

  • This Friday the 'Blood and Ice Cream' trilogy will come to an end as The World's End is released in cinemas in the UK
  • 'The World's End' reunites Pegg and Frost (along with Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman) and new recruits Eddie Marsan and Rosamund Pike
  • In 'The World's End', 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub - The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realise the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's. Reaching The World's End is the least of their worries.
  • Having conquered the zombie and action movie genre's for the final film in the trilogy, Wright/Pegg have chosen to take on the science fiction genre
  • Pegg and Wright originally started planning the film ten years ago, but developed the idea during their press tour for Hot Fuzz in 2007
