The 70s – BBC 2, 9pm
Dominic Sandbrook takes us down memory lane in this new documentary series. The first episode focuses on 1970-72 discussing cheap package holidays to Benidorm, the rise of David Bowie and the miners’ strike.
Sandbrook has come under slight scrutiny for the series - born in 1974, he’s hardly the 1970s expert he claims to be having spent most of it in nappies - but the fantastic soundtrack and old video footage certainly make up for it.
Dara O’Briain: School of Hard Sums – Dave, 8pm
We’ve already seen the Irish comedian’s penchant for all things geeky in his series Stargazing Live with Prof Brian Cox. Now the maths graduate O’Briain takes us back to the classroom in an effort to make it...err...fun.
Scott & Bailey – ITV1, 9pm
It’s hardly your average 9 to 5 as the trio are charged with solving another gruelling case. A woman has been found dead wearing a fancy-dress police uniform, her skin an unexplainable greenish tint.
As they begin their investigation, their own personal lives start to rear their ugly heads and they struggle to keep work and play separate - Scott is evading the advances of a persistent colleague, Bailey is frogmarched into a hopeless marriage and Murray battles against a drunken ex - probably happier to be at work, really.
